AFP provides a number of exciting scholarship opportunities available for AFP Canada South Members.
AFP Canadian National Scholarship Program:
The purpose of the scholarship is to assist individuals employed in the fundraising and not-for-profit sectors by enabling them to attend educational events that develop and improve knowledge and skills. Scholarships up to a value of $1,000 will be awarded to successful applicants. This scholarship is from AFP foundation for Philanthropy Canada. AFP Chamberlain Scholarship:
The AFP foundation is pleased to offer every AFP chapter that was in accord the year prior $500.00 to an AFP member that is selected by the Chapter. Awards Committee will review all nominations. AFP Canada South has allocated $1000.00 to the recipient in addition to the $500.00 from AFP foundation for Philanthropy Canada . AFP Diverse Communities Scholarship:
The AFP Foundation for Philanthropy has a scholarship fund for members of diverse communities to attend the AFP International Fundraising Conference.
The fundraising professional will self-identify with an eligible diverse community as defined by AFP:
- African-American/Black
- Asian
- Faith-based
- Hispanic
- Jewish
- Lesbian/Gay/Bisexual/Transgender/Queer (LGBTQ)
- Or Rural Community (Windsor and Essex County qualify as rural)
You are eligible to be considered for the Greater Toronto Chapter’s Bursary program if you work at a registered charity with fundraising revenues of $1,500,000 or less (excluding government/United Way funding), and spend a minimum of 20% of your time in fundraising activities.
